Lime Basil Seeds
We are introducing our premium Lime Basil Seeds, an exciting and unique addition to your home garden that is visually stunning and deliciously flavorful. Lime Basil is a hybrid variety of basil featuring a combination of traditional basil taste and a refreshing hint of citrus. Its distinct aroma, vibrant green leaves, and versatile uses make it a must-have for every gardener, chef, and herb enthusiast.
Germination: Lime Basil seeds have a high germination rate and are easy to grow. Begin by sowing the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or outdoors when soil temperatures reach at least 60°F (15°C). Press the seeds into moist, well-draining soil, spacing them about ¼ inch apart, and cover them with a thin layer of soil or vermiculite. Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature between 65-70°F (18-21°C). The seeds should germinate within 7-14 days.
Growing: Once the seedlings have developed two sets of true leaves, transplant or thin them out to a spacing of 12-18 inches apart. Lime Basil thrives in full sun and well-draining, nutrient-rich soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Regular watering is essential, but avoid over-watering to prevent root rot. To encourage bushy growth and prevent flowering, pinch off the top growth tips and remove any flower buds as they appear.
Harvesting: Lime Basil can be harvested as soon as the plant reaches 6-8 inches in height, and you can continue harvesting throughout the growing season. Pick leaves in the morning when their essential oils are at their peak. To harvest, pinch off leaves or stems just above a set of two leaves, encouraging new growth.
Uses: Lime Basil leaves can be used fresh or dried to add a distinctive, zesty flavor to various dishes. They are perfect for salads, dressings, sauces, marinades, and beverages. Lime Basil can also be incorporated into pesto, pasta, and fish dishes or used as a garnish to add a unique flavor twist.
